Rhea the Second demands more love w/ release “Tired of Broken Hearts”
Rhea the Second has been having an amazing run with the music she has been creating and while also putting in the work that many aren’t willing to do. The community she keeps bringing together with her sonics is really worth talking about for the simple fact that she is so intentional with what she has to say. This new record is definitely proof of that. “Tired of Broken Hearts” is a genuinely well put together pop record, fun without sacrificing intention, polished without losing the personality behind it. There’s some really intentional wordplay throughout the record, but what makes it work is how accessible everything still feels. The production gives Rhea enough room to play, while the mixing and mastering makes the record feel complete. Most importantly, the message comes through clearly. You understand what Rhea is trying to communicate without the song having to over explain itself. Add in the replay value, and “Tired of Broken Hearts” feels like another strong example of just how much potential exists within Rhea’s world..
But our critique is becoming pretty simple, it’s time for the project. Over roughly the last two years, we’ve watched Rhea tease different sides of her artistry, collaborate with people like MVTE, experiment with her own releases, and build alongside some incredible musicians and bands. All of those experiences have shown us pieces of who Rhea is, but now we want to hear what happens when all of those pieces are intentionally brought together. Give us the conceptual album. Give us the EP. Give us a body of work where the production, storytelling, visuals, collaborations, and personality all exist inside Rhea’s universe. Because at this point, we don’t need more proof that she can make a good record. We want to know what a complete Rhea the Second world sounds like..
Until then, run “Tired of Broken Hearts” and let us know what you think..
