Hitxion creates powerful vibes w/ release “Falling Up”

Hitxion is new to our radar, but his sound is already proving to be both creative and powerful. We recently got a chance to see him perform at True Star Media’s From The Go Fest, and his stage presence immediately stood out. But beyond the performance, the music itself shows that there’s something here worth paying attention to. His record “Falling Up” carries a raw, lo fi hip hop feel that works well with the honesty of the writing. The lyrics are piercing, intentional, and reflective, giving the record a weight that goes beyond just having a good sound. Hitxion clearly has something to say, and we appreciate the effort he’s putting into making sure the music actually carries a message..

Our biggest critique is in the mixing and mastering. When the lyrics are this powerful, we want them to cut through as clearly as possible. A little more attention to the vocal mix and overall polish could help those words land even harder without taking away from the lo fi character of the record. And of course, we want more. An EP or full length project feels like the natural next step. “Falling Up” gives us a glimpse into Hitxion’s world, but now we want to know what happens when he gets the space to build that world across an entire body of work..
