L Streetz is not letting up w/ release “Cases”

Lstreetz has been on a powerful run over the last year and a half, building not only within Chicago’s music scene but extending that presence into the industry as well, and doing it in one of the most humble ways an artist can. From getting front page of the Chicago Reader to being seen in rooms with legends like Ludacris & Cee Lo Green, her work and continued building alongside the legendary Shawnna of Guy Entertainment Group is only one piece of the story. The reality is that LStreetz has been putting in the work long before this current moment. What’s exciting to watch is that the music continues to evolve and grow into something bigger than itself with every release. This newest record is another example of that growth. It feels intentional, polished, and very well put together while still leaving room for curiosity about where she goes next. There’s a confidence in the direction that makes this release feel less like a standalone moment and more like part of a larger picture..

One thing we’d love to see from Streetz moving forward is a full conceptual project, something that reflects on where she has come from and is showing us who she will become. Based on the records she’s been dropping lately, there feels like there’s a deeper story waiting to be explored. We want to know more, not just about the music, but about who she is as an artist & human being and how her experiences shape the work. Being signed to Shawnna’s label is an accomplishment worth acknowledging in itself, but more importantly, Streetz sounds like she’s building an identity that stands on it’s own. There’s already conversation happening about a project potentially arriving soon, and if that happens, we’re interested to see how she expands on everything she’s been setting up..

With “Cases” featuring Shawnna, there’s a level of confidence in the record that feels earned rather than forced, and that’s part of what makes it connect. What stands out most here is presence. The record feels intentional from the jump and allows both artists to exist in a space that feels focused instead of overcrowded. There’s chemistry here, but more importantly, there’s identity. The collaboration doesn’t feel like one artist leaning on another, it feels like two artists contributing to a moment. For Streetz specifically, this record feels like another sign of an artist continuing to sharpen her voice and become more comfortable in her own lane. There’s structure here, there’s replay value, and there’s enough personality throughout the record to make you interested in what comes next. Having Shawnna attached to the record adds another layer, not because of expectation, but because it creates an opportunity for dialogue between experience and momentum. That dynamic comes through naturally and gives the record more weight..

One thing we’d love to see moving forward is Streetz continuing to expand the world around these records. The recent releases feel like they’re building toward something bigger, with heartfelt truths & affirmations about her future, the flex raps are amazing but we want to hear more about where Streetz comes from and her determination to keep evolving. The energy around her and Shawnna is unmatched and a conceptual project that’s truth bearing could really allow listeners to connect deeper with her story and artistic perspective. Overall, “Cases” feels polished, focused, and like another strong step in an already upward trajectory..

Take a listen and let us know what you think.
