Eastside TBJ is figuring out his sound w/ release “T.R.A.P.P”

Eastside TBJ is one of those artists who still feels new to the Chicago music scene despite having been creating for some time now, and this record feels like another step in that evolution. There’s clear progression here, not just in the presentation, but in the overall energy and direction of the music. This record carries an anthem like quality to it. It feels built to motivate, energize, and leave an impression, and because of that, there’s solid replay value throughout. You can hear moments where Eastside TBJ is stepping more confidently into his sound and becoming more intentional with how he delivers his message..

That said, there are moments where the confidence in the performance doesn’t fully land. They’re small moments overall, but they do occasionally pull attention away from the record and keep it from reaching it’s full impact. As the artistry continues to develop, that conviction and command will likely become even more natural and elevate records like this further. Outside of that, this is a strong release and a good sign of growth. We’re interested to see what’s next for Eastside TBJ because the foundation is there and the trajectory is moving in the right direction. Word on the street says there may be a project on the way soon, and if so, we’ll definitely be paying attention..

Take a listen and let us know what you think.
