Jean Deaux Nowhere, Fast UAES ep review

Jean Deaux is not only OG to many of the artists coming from Chicago since the blog era, but the entire industry. When it comes to experimental RnB JD has been pioneering the genre itself for a long time. This new EP shows her ability to produce quality sounds that are not only relatable, but they capture just a powerful essence only someone like Deaux can manifest..

Nowhere, Fast is a cinematic movie through music reflecting on the growth we all have to embrace in our lives. Through the amazing interludes and skits throughtout this EP JD gives these powerful lessons through phenomenal song structure and world play that comes across as surreal honesty mixed with just a little bit of humor and overall beautiful vulnerability..

Records like “Dreamin” and “TWUG (That’s What U Get) hit hard on reflecting on self and not allowing one to be stagnant and standing on boundaries when it comes to folks not understanding you. While records like “Believe It”, “Situations (Interlude)”, and “Thinkin” feat Destin Conrad are more about how being focused on your life goals can bring folks around you that might not have the best intentions, yet we might still entertain it because of the concept of wanting to be in love. JD really did her thing with this EP and we are so excited to see her on tour very soon..

Our favorite records to play in the office have to be “Dreamin”, “Thinkin”, and “Roll With Me”. Take a listen to this amazing EP and let us know what you think..
