Heff Bank$ keeps applying pressure w/ release “Go About It!"
Heff Bank$ has been putting in real work, not only as an artist, but as somebody actively helping build community around Chicago music. Between curating shows, building with the Swim Team, and continuing to develop his Own the City series, Heff has shown that his presence in the ecosystem extends far beyond simply dropping records. But the music still has to hit, and “Go About It” does. The record carries a subtle but extremely catchy flow that makes it easy to run back. The mixing and mastering are clean, the bar play is up to par, and Heff sounds comfortable throughout the record. Nothing feels overly forced. It’s the kind of song that understands exactly what it needs to be and executes that well..
Our biggest critique really isn’t about the record itself. We think it’s time for a project. Heff Bank$ has spent a lot of time pouring into the Swim Team, Own the City, Chicago camaraderie, and creating spaces where other artists and creatives can be seen. Now we want to hear a body of work that turns some of that attention inward. Give us a conceptual EP. Give us a project that really dives into the mind of Heff Bank$. Because if you’ve ever actually met Heff, you know there’s more there. He’s a leader, but he’s also somebody who listens. He’s down to earth, community minded, and understands the importance of being a good ear for the people around him. There’s a story inside of that perspective that deserves to be documented through the music. “Go About It!” proves the records are there. Now we want the body of work..
Until then, take a listen and let us know what you think..
