Chai Tulani & Kordy Blakka come together for the release “Do As I Do”

Chai Tulani has been putting in work, not just as a creative and artist, but as a father, community builder, and somebody genuinely invested in creating spaces where others can grow alongside him. His work with REBXL Music Marketing speaks for itself, but his impact stretches beyond the platform. Tulani has remained intentional about uplifting Chicago’s African diaspora and Afrobeats communities, helping create space for a sound and culture that continues to become a larger part of the city’s musical identity. He’s been one of the people consistently doing the groundwork, connecting communities and helping that movement find it’s footing in Chicago. And he shows no signs of slowing down. His new record with Kordy Blakka, “Do As I Do,” feels like another example of that momentum. The production is strong, the lyricism is intentional, and there’s a celebratory energy throughout the record that makes it easy to come back to. Our biggest critique isn’t necessarily about what’s here, it’s about what we’re still waiting to hear. We want a Chai Tulani project. Throughout the year, we’ve watched him consistently release singles, and the records have continued to hit. At this point, though, we’d love to see those individual moments begin forming a larger universe. Whether that becomes an EP, a conceptual project, or something entirely different, there feels like there’s enough foundation in this current run of releases to give listeners a complete body of work that further defines where Chai Tulani is creatively right now.
