C3zr is an incredible soul artist who has been steadily building momentum throughout Chicago’s music scene for quite some time. With every release, he continues to refine his sound while carving out a lane that’s uniquely his own. His latest collaboration with fellow soul artist Jontan, “LUA,” is another strong example of that growth. This record has exceptional replay value. It’s jazzy, understated, and incredibly intentional. Rather than overcomplicating the moment, C3zr and Jontan allow the production, songwriting, and chemistry to speak for themselves. Our only critique is one we’ve had for a while, it’s time for an EP. C3zr has spent years building an impressive catalog of singles and consistently delivering quality music, but we’d love to hear a more cohesive body of work. An EP would give him the opportunity to fully explore the musical direction hinted at on “LUA” while allowing listeners to experience a more complete picture of his artistry..
