Essjay TheAfrocentricRatchet continues to prove that she’s one of the more versatile voices coming out right now. What makes her stand out is her ability to move effortlessly between intricate, thought provoking bar play and records that are simply fun to experience. She doesn’t sacrifice lyricism for entertainment, she finds a way to make both exist in the same space. This latest release is a perfect example of that balance.
