7000 (7K) creates some of his best work w/ release “I AM 7000”

7000 (7k) is an artist unlike any other. His intention, his approach to creation, and his ability to stand firmly on lyricism and bar play that stretches beyond the regular makes him one of those artists you have to pay attention to. He has been working very hard to make sure the content and the rollouts he’s creating are hard to duplicate. This new body of work “I AM 7000” is another strong example of exactly why. The project is incredibly polished. The mixing and mastering allow every element to breathe, the bar play is sharp throughout, and features from Kayo, Ausar, and others add to the project without taking away from (7k)’s own identity. There’s a clear understanding of sound here, but there’s also an artist continuing to figure out just how far he can push his own world..

(7k) is very much what you would expect from an MC who understands the importance of bars, presence, and storytelling, while still leaving enough room to get abstract and personal. On the project “I AM 7000” (7k) finds a strong balance between traditional emceeing and the kind of down to earth writing that allows you to understand the person behind the music. The production plays a major role in that balance. Each record is given enough space to breathe, allowing the bars and ideas to sit with you instead of everything feeling overcrowded. The features are handled with that same level of intention. They complement the album and add different textures without ever taking the spotlight away from (7K) himself. But what really gives “I AM 7000” it’s weight is how much of (7K) is actually inside of it. His struggles, triumphs, fears, worries, accomplishments, and determination all show up throughout the project. There is confidence here, but there is also vulnerability. You hear an MC standing firmly on his ability while still being willing to document everything it took, and continues to take, to become the artist and person he is. “I AM 7000” ultimately feels less like an introduction and more like a declaration, this is (7K), this is what he has lived through, and this is where he stands right now..

Our biggest critique is simple, we want more. (7k) has been uniquely building behind the scenes while continuing to develop his sound, and we respect the patience that comes with that. But the music is reaching a point where it deserves an even bigger world around it. We want the shows. We want the listening parties. We want the visual experiences and more opportunities to actually step inside these bodies of work instead of only hearing them through our headphones. The foundation is already there. Now we want to see (7k) take up even more space..

Until then, take a listen and let us know what you think..
