SpazzX comes out of hiding w/ release “Junkyard V4”
From the moment “Junkyard V4” opens, there’s a raw, industrial energy like stepping into a half-abandoned factory at twilight. The soundscape is gritty, clanking, metallic, & simultaneously mechanical and musical. You hear the echoes of things being dragged, struck, and rubbed against one another, the track doesn’t shy away from noise. It feels like sound as debris, as decay, as reclamation..
That said, it’s not chaos for chaos’s sake, there is method behind the machinery. Underneath the abrasive textures lies a delicate scaffolding of rhythm, tension, and release. The tracks often hover between ambient and beat-driven, not quite dancefloor, not quite background, but something in between. In terms of layering, SpazzX is doing quite a lot, the initial framework might start with a low sub drone, but gradually more elements are introduced, shimmers, clangs, field recordings perhaps, glitchy fragments, reverb tails. What could easily become muddled remains surprisingly cohesive, thanks to careful mixing and frequency separation..
SpazzX seems drawn toward the tension between industrial decay and synthetic order. The name “Junkyard” itself evokes discarded machinery, broken parts, rust, but also suggests possibility, reconstruction, & salvage. This version (V4) feels like part of an ongoing experiment, a work in progress, where evolution matters more than perfection. As an artist, SpazzX doesn’t settle for purely aesthetic beauty, the beauty here is often harsh, abrasive, uncomfortable, but also strangely poetic. That tension is of value. They’re not chasing easy listening, they’re inviting the listener to engage, to lean in, to feel the edges..
Overall, “Junkyard V4” is a compelling demonstration of what experimental instrumental music can do when it embraces grit and incompleteness. SpazzX is crafting a language of sound scrap, where fragments meet resonance. It’s not easy listening, but then, it doesn’t want to be. It wants to challenge, to unsettle, and to reward patience..
